AACC Critical and Point of Care Testing: Managing technology for the benefit of All Populations. 18/09/08 - 20/09/08

Annette Thomas (Director) and Margaret Perkins (POCT Co-ordinator) will be attending this conference, presenting a poster entitled 'An evaluation of the analytical performance of a new generation hospital based glucose meter and an assessment of its clinical reliability in a neonatal care unit'.

The aim of this study was to assess the analytical performance and specificity of StatStrip alongside three conventional glucose meters Advantage® (Roche Diagnostics, Mannheim, Germany), Optium Xceed® (Abbott Diabetes, Alameda, CA), and Contour ® (Bayer, Tarrytown, NY). In addition the performance of Statstrip and Contour were further assessed on patients in a neonatal critical care unit.

User Group Meeting and Seminar 2008  09/12/08 - 10/12/08
This year’s 2 day User Group Meeting & Seminar will take place in Manchester on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th of December. The programme will include work shops for both WEQAS and POCT and a full day scientific meeting.
